SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — The Scottsdale City Council has agreed to a deal that would allow Axon to build a new billion-dollar headquarters after months of debate.
The body-word camera company originally proposed rezoning a section of a 67-acre site to allow for a mixed-use component at the Axon campus near Hayden Road and the Loop 101.
Mayor Lisa Borowsky had said before the meeting that she planned to vote against the deal, but during the course of the three-hour meeting, Borowsky learned that she and Axon President Josh Izzner may have been misled by an opponent of the deal.
After a 40-minute break, the meeting resumed with a new deal.
