GRAND CANYON, AZ (AZFamily) — It’s been almost five months since the Dragon Bravo Fire tore through the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. Hundreds of employees were displaced, including their pets.

People say a dog is a man’s best friend, but the black and white cat Manny is Lisa Frazee’s best friend. That bond was tested more than ever when Arizona’s seventh-largest wildfire tore through their home at the North Rim.

Living at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon has its perks, but it’s far from any major towns.

“It’s such a beautiful place, and it’s a remote place,” Frazee said.

So when Frazee was offered a seasonal job through Grand Canyon Conservancy, bringing her cat Manny was a no-brainer.

“Well, he goes wherever I go, and we’ve been dispersed camping for years,” she said.
