ST PAUL, Minn. — At a time when many Minnesotans report struggling with housing costs, three local foundations are leading a new, multi-million dollar effort that's meant to rally financial support for those helping Minnesotans find - and remain in - safe, secure and affordable housing.

The Our Home State initiative is a partnership between the St Paul & Minnesota Foundation , the F. R. Bigelow Foundation and the Mardag Foundation , that seeks to work with other donors, businesses and government to address affordable housing issues in several ways:

• Strengthen stability through supportive services and eviction prevention

• Strengthen shelters with increased capacity support

• Build new housing in neighborhoods that people of all incomes can afford

• Change policies and narr
