CHENEY, Wash. – Several firefighters were recognized for their heroic efforts during an Eastern Washington University football game.

Firefighters Ryan Finneran, Jeff Hanson, Brian Turpen, and Lieutenant Gabe Mills were honored by BELFOR Property Restoration and 1-800-BOARDUP for rescuing a man from a house fire earlier this year.

Each firefighter expressed humility about the recognition, saying they were “just doing their jobs.” However, the honor held significant meaning for both the responders and the community they serve.
