LONDON, Ky. (WKYT) - Six months after a deadly tornado tore through southern Kentucky, residents are rebuilding their homes and lives with new construction replacing structures that held decades of memories.
Terry Brock is among those watching a brand new home rise where his previous residence stood for years.
“That’s the good part. But we had 55 years of stuff, stuff she collected over the years,” Brock said.
New homes are under construction in multiple Laurel County neighborhoods after the tornado destroyed everything in its path.
Construction challenges and community support
Brock said coordinating the rebuilding process has presented obstacles.
“Probably the biggest challenge is getting everyone here, all at the same time,” he said.
