As AFL clubs ready themselves for the national draft, some might consider the wisdom and methods of Les Snead, general manager of the Los Angeles Rams and one of the most influential figures in list management in professional sport.
Snead’s influence has already reached AFL clubs, with ideas on how teams build championship-contenders. He says there is an alternative to “rebuilding” that he calls “remodelling” when the team doesn’t need to level the playing list, but has to rebuild a portion of it.
