An Indiana homeowner has been charged with voluntary manslaughter after allegedly killing a house cleaner, raising questions about the limits of stand-your-ground laws.

Curt Anderson could face 10 to 30 years in prison along with a $10,000 fine if convicted.

Guy Relford, Anderson's attorney, did not respond to requests for comment before the charges were filed.

Officers found 32-year-old Maria Florinda Rios Perez De Velasquez, dead on the front porch of a Whitestown home on November 5th. Authorities said she was part of a cleaning crew that mistakenly went to the wrong house.

Her husband told media outlets that he was with her on the porch when someone fired through the front door. He realized she had been shot only when she fell back into his arms, bleeding.
