WASHINGTON — Fresh off a 43-day government shutdown that temporarily disrupted SNAP payments , the Trump administration said it plans to require all Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program recipients to reapply for benefits, citing concerns about fraud in the nation's largest food assistance program.
That would affect the nearly 42 million Americans who rely on SNAP, also known as food stamps, to help pay for groceries each month.
