OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - It’s an Omaha tradition, decades strong. This 40-foot tree made its way through town and will soon be on display at the Durham Museum.

Tradition marks 50 years at Union Station

It’s the unofficial kickoff to the holiday season in Omaha.

“Christmas at Union Station is a tradition that’s been going on for 50 years.”

The Christmas tree at the museum — an institution.

“Its 50th anniversary is in five days from now. Miraculously, we had a volunteer at the time that in the first two weeks the museum was open, made this tradition a priority,” said Scott Eastman, director of marketing and PR and the museum.
