Blue Jacket’s Fantasy of Lights opened by celebrating a woman who loved to spread joy.

The annual light-filled attraction opens each year with the flip of a switch. Jim LeGault, a former Blue Jacket employee, and his family got that honor this year.

They did it for their daughter, Kaitie Joy, who had cancer. The 22-year-old died Oct. 16, according to her obituary.

Blue Jacket and her family wanted to honor her by spreading joy through the 31st season of Fantasy of Lights, said Tony Hudson, the nonprofit’s CEO.

Blue Jacket works to provide training and opportunities to anyone with a barrier who is striving to earn gainful employment.
