A desperate search is underway for a North Texas man who disappeared during a hike in northern Georgia.

“The family is still trying to be out here to try and think like dad a little bit,” said Julia Hosch, who spoke to NBC 5 on Monday from the mountain where her father was last seen.

Charles Hosch, 67, is a husband, a father described as a “devoted girl dad,” and a new grandfather. A Harvard Law School graduate, his firm calls him a “brilliant legal mind” who has spent three decades mentoring law students at SMU’s Dedman School of Law.

His home is Dallas now, but he grew up in Gainesville, Georgia.
