DOVER, Ohio — The Ohio State Highway Patrol says a woman is dead after being struck and killed by a cargo van early Monday evening in Dover .

Authorities say the victim — identified as 69-year-old Dover resident Kathy M. Fruchey — was in the right lane of North Wooster Avenue when she was hit by a white Ram Promaster 1500 being driven by an 80-year-old man who was also from Dover. The collision occurred just after 6 p.m. near the intersection with Karle Alley, with the van headed north.

Fruchey was taken by ambulance to Cleveland Clinic Union Hospital before being airlifted to the Summa Health Akron campus, where she died from her injuries. The driver of the Ram was not hurt.

The crash is currently under investigation.
