Nine will cut up to 50 roles in a “reset” of free-to-air offerings, a broadcasting boss has confirmed as she merges the business with their Stan streaming and 9Now platforms.
Nine’s freshly-minted head of broadcasting and streaming, Amanda Laing, said the newer platforms offered more options for viewers and advertisers.
On Tuesday, she confirmed reporting the company was looking to cut approximately 50 roles across its streaming and broadcast division.
The network will target the cuts towards on-air talent, sales and management roles.
Its most recent plan to shed $160 million in costs focusses heavily on its television expenditure.
Ms Laing told The Australian “every part of streaming and broadcast division will be impacted”.
