SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — The Scottsdale City Council has approved an agreement with the weapons tech company Axon , ending its dispute over a massive new headquarters.
On Monday, the council agreed to a compromise with Axon, which will allow the company to build 1,200 housing units in its development off the Loop 101 and Hayden Road . Half of those units will be apartments, and the other half will be condos.
The initial plan for the 70-acre campus called for 1,900 housing units.
Scottsdale Mayor Lisa Borowsky said the disagreement has divided the city. Still, she believes it is in everyone’s best interest to find middle ground with Axon and keep them headquartered in Scottsdale.
