Some of our utility bills could be going up this winter and for people in Enfield, Somers or East Windsor, they could get hit with three increases.

She’s trying to figure out how she would pay her electric and water bills if they were to climb. Right now, Eversource and the Hazardville Water Company are both proposing rate hikes.

“You’re just struggling most of the time, so it’s going to be hard,” Orton said.

Eversource is looking to raise the price of electricity from 11.19 cents to 12.64 cents in terms of kWh from last winter. That means the average customer could be paying about $10 more.
