An armed man was shot and killed by police Monday night in the Deanwood neighborhood of Northeast D.C., according to police.

It is the second fatal D.C. police shooting in four days.

The shooting took place around 8 p.m. at 47th Place and Nash Street NE, not far from the Deanwood Metro stop.

Police say a patrol by sixth district and federal task force officers was on the lookout after neighbors reported hearing gunshots near the Metro station.
