Santa will probably be the big draw this Saturday in downtown Sudbury — for kids, at least — but if you are a lover of music, especially of the indie-folk-rock-twang variety, you might be more excited about a gig set to take place shortly after the last ho-ho-ho fades into the night.
Local singer-songwriter Kate Maki, backed by a seven-piece band, will be taking the stage at Knox Hall on Larch Street after the parade wraps up. And she will have acclaimed Toronto act Fembots, who played at the Northern Lights fest a couple of years ago, opening up for her.
Maki herself was back in Bell Park this summer to share songs from her latest album (and a few from her back catalogue) with a Festival Boreal crowd.
