“It has the soulful roots of a southern pie with the refined finish of a French dessert,” says Toni Chapman , who includes a version of the Brûléed Sweet Potato Pie in her cookbook Everything’s Good . “The sweet potato filling is buttery, warm and creamy with hints of cinnamon and vanilla, while the brûléed sugar layer adds a toasty crackle.”
