Founder Dunnet Bay Distillers has given a new lease of life to the former grain mill which had was originally built in 1818 but had lain unused for decades. It even attracted the attention of King Charles in 2007, when the then Prince of Wales expressed a desire for the building to be preserved as it became increasingly derelict.

Now, following its restoration by Dunnet Bay, the distiller is looking to raise £150,000 via a crowdfunding campaign to encourage the local community, Caithness diaspora, and whisky enthusiasts to support the next stage of the former mill’s development.

The funding will be used to help construct a new maturation warehouse and support the expansion of the team. Members who invest will gain access to exclusive Stannergill experiences and limited-edition releases.
