Jan Suraaj Party chief Prashant Kishor, speaking for the first time on his party’s failure to win any seats in the Bihar Assembly elections, said that his team had made an honest effort, though it was unsuccessful, and he accepted responsibility for the poll debacle.

The party, which had touted itself to be a dark horse in the high-stakes poll, contested 238 seats but failed to win a single one, securing just 3.44 per cent of the vote share. In 68 constituencies, it even received fewer votes than NOTA.

“We made an honest effort, but it was completely unsuccessful. There's no harm in admitting this. Forget about systemic change; we couldn't even bring about a change in power. But we certainly played some role in changing Bihar's politics," he said at a press meet.
