A Basalt Middle School student’s vision of global unity earned top honors last week in the Basalt Lions Club’s first Peace Poster Project.
Seventh-grader Amanda Cespedes was named the club’s inaugural winner after her artwork rose to the top of a field of local students participating in the 2025–26 Lions Club Peace Poster Project. Basalt Lions Club announced the winner Nov. 11.
The international contest invites kids ages 11 to 13 to reflect on the theme “Together As One” and illustrate what peace looks like in their world.
Cespedes’ poster imagines nations across the globe coming together as a harmonious planet. Her piece now advances to the Lions Club District-level competit
