A federal Greens candidate has declared "justice is nowhere near done" as the police officer who allegedly assaulted her at a pro-Palestine demonstration was publicly named for the first time.

Hannah Thomas suffered a serious eye injury that required surgery when she was arrested outside a Sydney business on June 27 during a protest over the supply of weapons to Israel.

Senior Constable Christopher Davis, 33, has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and recklessly causing grievous bodily harm over the violent altercation.

About 20 protesters gathered outside Bankstown Local Court to demand justice for Ms Thomas before the police officer's case went before a magistrate for the first time on Tuesday.
