The face and tone of voice West Virginia University football coach Rich Rodriguez used following the Mountaineers' 25-23 loss to Arizona State mimicked those of an angry parent.
WVU had won its last two games over Houston and Colorado leading into Saturday's contest in Tempe.
The Mountaineers were hoping to achieve a three-game winning streak for the first time this season, and their first since 2023, but failed to do so.
The two-point loss to the Sun Devils dropped the Mountaineers to 2-6 in Big 12 Conference play and 4-7 overall, eliminating them from bowl eligibility.
