State Bank of India (SBI) will withdraw its mCASH service on November 30, ending a feature that allowed users to send money without registering a beneficiary. The service, available on OnlineSBI and the YONO Lite app, let customers transfer funds using only a mobile number or email ID.
After the cutoff, users will not be able to send or claim money via mCASH links or the standalone app.
What mCASH offered
mCASH was introduced as a convenience tool, primarily for quick, low-value transfers where adding a beneficiary was cumbersome.
Senders entered the recipient’s mobile number or email ID, following which the beneficiary received an SMS or email containing a secure link and an eight-digit passcode.
Recipients could then claim the money either by:
logging into the mCASH mobile app wit
