Jagatsinghpur: A college student was found dead in a private mess near Nabakrushna Choudhury Stadium in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur town on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Om Prakash Acharya, who was a third-year History Honours Plus III student of SVM Autonomous College in Jagatsinghpur. ADVERTISEMENT

Police sources said Om Prakash had visited a friend staying at the mess on Monday and spent the night alone in one of the rooms. However, a friend found him hanging from the ceiling in the morning.

As per preliminary investigation, the youth was suspected to have died by suicide. However, the exact cause would be ascertained after postmortem.
