A man accused of killing his father in Farmington over the weekend faced a judge Monday.

Joshua Popilarczyck, 31, is charged with murdering his father, David, after police say they found the 62-year-old dead in his living room, stabbed multiple times. Joshua’s bond was set to $3 million.

In court, it was revealed he has prior convictions from 2024, for strangulation and for violating his conditions of release. His probation for that was lifted in September 2025.

He’s due back in court on Dec. 2. Police say the investigation is still active and ongoing.
