Pakistan batting star Babar Azam has been punished by the ICC for breaching code of conduct during the third ODI against Sri Lanka recently. Babar has been fined 10 per cent of his match fee after being found guilty of breaching Level 1 of the code.

According to ICC, the 31-year-old violated the Article 2.2 of ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which pertains to “abuse of cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment, or fixtures and fittings during an International Match."

Additionally, one demerit point has been added to Babar’s disciplinary record, marking his first offence in a 24-month period.
