In a joint operation of Railway Protection Forces (RPF) of Southern and Konkan Railway, a four-member gang that had stolen jewellery worth ₹50 lakh from a passenger on MGR Chennai Central-Mangaluru Central Mail on November 14 was arrested at Madgaon the same day.
A couple travelling on Train 12601 from Chennai to Quilandi in a second AC coach on November 14 reported the theft of gold jewellery from a locked trolley bag. While the Government Railway Police, Kozhikode, registered a case, the RPF coordinated the investigation under the supervision of Palakkad Divisional Security Commissioner A. Navin Prasath and Railway Superintendent of Police Shahansha.
