Union Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal on Tuesday called for stronger domestic investment, particularly in startups and research and development, saying early-stage ventures should not depend solely on foreign capital.

He urged industry leaders to adopt a more ambitious and proactive approach to help drive India’s growth.

Speaking at the FICCI’s 98th Annual General Meeting and Annual Convention, Mr Goyal outlined several key expectations from the industry and encouraged them to set bold, future-focused targets.
