It may not be December yet, but I've already put my Christmas tree up. And by the end of this story, I hope I have convinced even the biggest Scrooges to do the same. ‌

The reason that I've decided to do it extra early this year is that my birthday is six days before Christmas, and my partner's is three days after mine, so we often don't spend the build-up to Yuletide in our own home. We want ample time to enjoy the beautiful twinkly lights and decorations, so getting the tree up early is a no-brainer. ‌

People can mock all they like – as putting up the decorations is a fun and enjoyable activity in itself. Admiring them with a glass of mulled wine is even more enjoyable. Or, if you'd prefer, a hot chocolate. ‌
