MEDINA, Ohio – Additional land will become part of Huffman Cunningham Park before the year’s end thanks to a land donation council officially accepted at its Nov. 10 meeting.
Parks and Recreation Director Jansen Wehrley said property owners Mark and Alexandria Taylor contacted the city earlier this year to see if Medina would be interested in the donation of land which is roughly 1.55 acres and valued at $165,000.
“The parks department does have interest in the property as it abuts the park and includes a mature floodplain forest habitat,” Wehrley said.
In exchange for the donation, the Taylors ask that a memorial bench be placed in the park to honor Mark’s parents, Jean and Harrison Taylor.
