Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda launched the National Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance (NAP-AMR) 2.0 for 2025–29.
Nadda emphasised that antimicrobial resistance (AMR) directly threatens the effectiveness of surgical procedures, cancer treatments, and other critical interventions. He warned that the overuse and misuse of antibiotics has become common practice, which underscores the urgency of corrective measures.
