Kolkata: The dragon is quietly flexing its financial muscle. A manufacturing powerhouse seems to be only a partial identity of China. The country whose goods line most American store shelves has also lent as much as $200 billion to US companies and projects apart from more than $1 trillion in credit support to developing world projects such as roads in Africa, ports in South America and railroads in Central Asia. AidData, which is a research institute at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia has come out with this significant piece of information. This funding has taken place over the past two decades, it said.
