Manipur, Nov 18: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Senior Accountant, O/o the Principal Accountant General (A&E), Imphal, Manipur while accepting a bribe of Rs. 10,000 from the complainant.

CBI registered the instant case based on the complaint that the accused demanded a bribe of Rs.20,000/- from the complainant in lieu of getting the MACP file cleared.

CBI laid a trap on 18.11.2025 and caught the accused official red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs. 10,000/- against his demand of Rs. 20,000/- from the complainant.

Investigation is continuing and searches are being conducted at the premises of the accused.
