MAYFIELD, Ohio -- Following in the footsteps of local communities such as Highland Heights, Richmond Heights, Mayfield Heights and South Euclid, Village Council approved legislation Monday (Nov. 17) that eliminates short-term home rentals.
Monday’s passage states that a dwelling, including that dwelling’s grounds, pool, or any other amenity associated with it, cannot be rented for less than 30 consecutive days.
The amended ordinance represents a change to the village code as, in 2018, it was established that short-term rentals could be made if the property owner applied for and was granted by the village a permit for a short-term rental.
Other communities, in disallowing rentals of less than 30 days, did so after hearing complaints from residents about parties, loud noise and parking
