CLEVELAND, Ohio — Either St. Edward or Mentor will bookend its football season Friday in the OHSAA Division I regional finals after they opened in August against each other with a scrimmage.
If that scrimmage is any indication of what will happen when it counts, then the Eagles are heavy favorites. They scored three times on their first 10 plays and dominated Mentor (12-0) on the Cardinals’ home field of Jerome T. Osborne Stadium.
All that matters now is St. Edward (10-2) comes in as the top seed in Division I, Region 1 to play Mentor for the second straight year at this stage.
