Kozhikode: Wellness and counselling centres will be set up in all police districts to support the physical and mental health of police personnel. The recommendations were submitted by Thiruvananthapuram Range DIG S Ajitha Begum to State Police Chief Rawada A Chandrasekhar.
The decision follows a study by Dr PK Rahimuddin, a clinical psychologist at the Thrissur Government Mental Health Centre, who was appointed to assess the mental stress faced by police personnel. The findings were first reported in Mathrubhumi “Police can’t sleep,” published on Sunday.
