Broadview declares ‘emergency order’ following death, bomb threats made against village officials

BROADVIEW, Ill. ( WGN ) — The Village of Broadview declared a “Civil Emergency Order” on Monday following a series of threats against village officials.

A village spokesperson said a death threat was made to Mayor Katrina Thompson on October 13. Village Hall received a bomb threat via phone call on September 4.

A press release revealed on Friday, November 14, a group of protesters tried to “storm Village Hall” and threatened to “shut down” a board meeting scheduled for Monday. But protesters say that’s not what happened.
