Ryanair, the well-known Irish low-cost carrier, has been penalized with the loss of two crucial landing slots at Eindhoven Airport following a pattern of delayed flights.

According to Airport Coordination Netherlands (ACNL), Ryanair's flights from Sofia and Pisa consistently arrived over an hour late. In response, Ryanair has condemned the decision as "unprecedented, irrational and disproportionate," and has sought redress through appeals to both the European Commission and Dutch courts.

Despite the airline's claims that air traffic control delays are to blame, the organization overseeing slot allocation at Eindhoven, ACNL, has moved to enforce this rare penalty for the upcoming summer schedule.
