AUGUSTA, Maine — The Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention is urging health care providers and families to immediately stop using all ByHeart Whole Nutrition Infant Formula products after a nationwide recall linked the brand to a multistate outbreak of infant botulism.

The recall, issued Nov. 11, includes all unexpired lots of ByHeart formula sold in cans and single-serve packets, the Maine CDC said in a Public Health Advisory issued Monday . Federal health officials advise that no one should consume any ByHeart infant formula while investigations continue.
