The Maharashtra government on Tuesday gave a go ahead for the construction of a six-lane elevated highway and a four-lane at-grade road over a 53.4-kilometer stretch on the Pune to Shirur on Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar national highway with directions to complete the work in three years.

The decision was taken at a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure held in Mumbai . Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that the work on the six-lane elevated road and the four-lane at-grade road on the Pune to Shirur highway must be completed within three years.
