Another public hearing is set for Maryland Gov. Wes Moore’s Redistricting Advisory Commission on Tuesday. Like the hearing Friday, this one will be virtual and accept public comment.
Montgomery County Democratic Sen. Cheryl Kagan said that while she supports getting more Democratic seats in the House, Maryland’s effort is likely to be challenged in court, just like it was in 2021.
“The concern that many of us have is that if we try to draw lines based on party affiliation it would be thrown out and the court would draw the new lines,” Kagan said
