With lakes in local Peoria parks, there are many opportunities for fishing in the city.

Kids ages 5–17 can learn fishing basics from Peoria park rangers.

Instruction will be held 9 a.m.-noon, Saturday, Nov. 22, at Paloma Community Park, 29799 N. Lake Pleasant Parkway.

Poles and permits are provided. Cost is $5 for residents, $20 for non-residents.
