The Canadian Mental Health Association Hastings Prince Edward and local partners are marking Recovery Day with a Thursday-afternoon event to educate people about recovering from addiction, mental health conditions, and trauma.
It will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the atrium of 250 Sidney St., Belleville (the former Nortel and Aviva building).

Recovery Day is observed nationally to celebrate and support people recovering from various challenges. This year’s theme is “Recovery is Real: Restoring Every Aspect of Life.”
One in five Canadians will experience a substance use disorder in their lifetime, the association reports. One in three will experience a mental health or addiction-related challenge, and many will experience both, an association news release stated,
