State regulators want to hear from the public before making a decision on a DTE Energy proposal to provide power for a massive data center campus planned for Saline Township.

The Michigan Public Service Commission set a virtual hearing for Wednesday, Dec. 3, at 6:30 p.m. for Michigan residents to provide input on DTE's plan to provide electricity for a data center project backed by OpenAI and Oracle .

The hearing will be held over Microsoft Teams, and individuals can participate by clicking the meeting link on the MPSC's website or dialing 248-509-0316 and entering the conference ID 593258092# when prompted.

DTE, in an Oct. 31 filing with the MPSC, had requested expedited approval of its plan to provide energy for the campus, expected to include 1.4 gigawatts of computing power.
