A $48 million expansion at Kelowna’s airport will open in a few months.
An enlarged departure lounge and bigger security screening should be operational within the first three months of 2026. Kelowna city councillors heard Monday.
“The project is trending ahead of where we thought it would be,” an airport representative told council at Monday’s meeting. “We’re spending more than we thought in terms of timing, although the overall budget for the project remains unchanged.”
Council heard the expansion is expected to be ready for use within the first quarter of 2026.
The large expansion area is to the south of the terminal building. A separate project, involving construction of an airport hotel and 1,000-stall parkade, is also underway with completion expected in 2027.
