POPLARVILLE, Miss. (WLOX) - A Gulfport man was sentenced Thursday on capital murder and child neglect charges.
District Attorney Hal Kittrell announced Tuesday that 27-year-old Takoda Jordan Miller pleaded guilty to the charges in Pearl River County Circuit Court before Judge Brad Touchstone.

Miller was sentenced to life in the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections (MDOC) without the possibility of parole or early release, plus five years.
Miller’s co-defendant, 24-year-old Kendra Makayla Beck, from Poplarville, pleaded guilty to the same charges on September 27, 2024, and was given the same sentence.
The case began on October 6, 2021, when a 911 call for medical assistance was made. A
