RAMANAGARA: The Bidadi police have arrested a suspect, identified as Swami (35), in connection with the murder of a security guard, Nishant (25), at Kadamba Hotel in Bidadi. The suspect, a native of Channapatna, was working at the same hotel where the murder took place.

According to the police, Swami had attempted to steal money from the hotel’s cash counter, but was caught by Nishant, who was on security duty. In a fit of panic, Swami allegedly stabbed Nishant to death with a knife and escaped with the hotel’s CCTV DVR.

The police tracked down Swami and arrested him. He has been produced before a magistrate. The investigation revealed that Swami was the perpetrator of the crime, and he had attempted to cover up the evidence by stealing the digital video recorder.
