Police have arrested two doctors who run a hospital in Talegaon Dabhade for allegedly submitting fake insurance claims for at least 14 patients and siphoning Rs 22 lakh from an insurance provider. The fraud came to light after an internal probe by the insurance company found that identical medical test results including X-ray images had been submitted for multiple patients.

A First Information Report in the case was registered at Talegaon Dabhade police station on Monday by Dr Sandeep Gaikwad who is working as the Senior Manager with the insurance provider Tata AIG. Senior Inspector Kanhaiyya Thorat, in-charge of the Talegaon Dabhade police station said, “We have arrested Dr Sandeep Wankhede and Dr Vishal Kukde who ran a hospital named Shree Multispeciality hospital in Talegaon Dabhade.
