Two St. Clair County communities will move forward with major upgrades to their local gathering spaces after each receiving matching $250,000 grants from the Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Foundation.

The funding, announced Tuesday, Nov. 18, supports community hub development in Marine City and Memphis in partnership with the Community Foundation of St. Clair County. Both projects focus on improving spaces used for events, recreation, and neighborhood engagement.

Marine City will put its grant toward the new Guy Center in the South Park area, a project that already received earlier support from the Community Foundation and the state’s Revitalization and Placemaking Program.
